Microdermabrasion, Dermaplaning & Peels

PRE-TREATMENT PREPARATION

48 HOURS PRIOR
No cosmetic injections in the treatment area

3 DAYS PRIOR
No recent sun exposure and sunbeds
Stop using cosmeceutical retinol and AHA/BHA

5 DAYS PRIOR (DERMAPLANING ONLY)
You cannot be taking certain medications e.g. Roaccutane.
Please consult with your GP & your treating therapist before the treatment.

2 WEEKS PRIOR
Topical prescription retinol/whitening/steroidal creams must be stopped.
Must not have an active cold sore.
No waxing, laser or IPL in the area.
You cannot be taking medication that contains Isotretinoin. If you have taken Accutane, or any other acne drug, microdermabrasion and peels should be avoided for six months after use has ceased.

Apply the recommended Balense &/ ARx Skincare products to strengthen & hydrate the skin reducing the risk of adverse reactions, such as irritation, inflammation & hyperpigmentation.

Please tell your therapist if you are pregnant or breastfeeding

Pigment Peel – Use a Tyrosinase Inhibitor for a minimum of 2 weeks prior to your appointment. Try Aesthetics Rx Ultimate Serum.

POST TREATMENT CARE

12 HOURS POST
Do not pick the skin as this could lead to hyper/hypopigmentation or scarring
Avoid ice and water (showers) on the treated area

24 HOURS POST
Keep cool
Keep hydrated, increase water intake to 8 glasses per day
Avoid steam, saunas and spa pools
Avoid exercise and swimming
Avoid any activities that would cause excessive perspiration

1-5 DAYS POST
Apply the recommended Balense Recovery Cream &/ Recovery Laser Gel to help reduce redness, inflammation & heat that remains in the skin. and SPF50+ sunscreen

5 DAYS POST
Resume post treatment routine with personalised prescription of of Balense or Aesthetics Rx skincare
Gently exfoliate using Balense or Aesthetics Rx exfoliator

7 DAYS POST
Use the gentle post care for 7 days & resume with personalised prescription of Balense or Aesthetics Rx skincare

PRE-TREATMENT PREPARATION

3 DAYS PRIOR
No recent sun exposure and sunbeds

1 WEEK PRIOR

No Anti-wrinkle, Profhilo, or PRP injections in the treatment area. No waxing, laser, or IPL in the area.

2 WEEKS PRIOR

No Dermal Fillers in the treatment area. Must not have active cold sores. No preparation with active home care is needed.

4 WEEKS PRIOR

No PDO Threads in the treatment area.

POST TREATMENT CARE

24 HOURS POST

Keep cool
Keep hydrated, increase water intake to 8 glasses per day
Avoid steam, saunas, and spa pools
Avoid exercise and swimming
Avoid any activities that would cause excessive perspiration

1-5 DAYS POST

Continue with prescribed Balense or AestheticsRx homecare and SPF50+ sunscreen.
Avoid us of cosmeceutical retinol. Avoid exfoliation.

5 DAYS POST

Gently exfoliate using Balense or ARX Exfoliating cleanser or Enzyme Mask.

Microneedling

Cosmelan Peel

PRE-TREATMENT PREPARATION

Peels cannot be applied to dehydrated skin

Cosmelan Peel – Stop the use of the Priming Brightening Peel Booster/Skin Retin 0.3%.

3 DAYS PRIOR
Stop the use of the Priming Brightening Peel Booster/Skin Retin 0.3%
Avoid sun exposure and sunbeds
Stop using cosmeceutical retinol and products containing AHA’s/BHA’s

2 WEEKS PRIOR
Stop use of Topical prescription retinol / whitening / steroidal creams
Must not have an active cold sore
No waxing, laser or IPL in the area

4 WEEKS PRIOR
No cosmetic injections in the treatment area

Cosmelan Peel – The following prepping products must be used: Priming Brightening Peel Booster/Skin Retin 0.3% and the following Balense (or approved equivalent) products: Clarifying Cleanser, Normal/Dry/Oily/Brightening Skin Moisturiser and UV Defiance SPF 50+ Sunscreen. Prepping the skin is important as peels cannot be applied to a dehydrated skin.

POST TREATMENT CARE

IMMEDIATELY POST TREATMENT
The Cosmelan 1 treatment mask applied in clinic, is to be left on the skin for a minimum of 6-12 hours as directed by the technician. The Cosmelan 1 mask should be kept moist with an atomiser water spritz bottle.

12 HOURS POST
Do not pick the skin as this could lead to hyper/hypopigmentation or scarring
On completion of application time, remove Cosmelan 1 mask with warm water and use prescribed Mesoestetic products as directed by your technician.

24 HOURS POST
Keep cool
Keep hydrated, increase water intake to 8 glasses per day
Avoid steam, saunas and spa pools
Avoid exercise and swimming
Avoid any activities that would cause excessive perspiration
Avoid sun exposure and sunbeds

The prescribed Mesoestetic homecare is to be used as directed by your technician

3 DAYS POST
In-clinic review appointment – Includes Observ Skin Analysis progress photos and in-clinic LED 830nm treatment (Included in Cosmelan® Depigmentation Program). To reduce continued skin redness & sensitivity, we recommend an upgrade to our LED Light Therapy Rejuvenation Package ($890) includes 10 x LED Treatments. LED treatments can be conducted in-clinic weekly to further improve skin recovery and results. The skin renewal process can continue for 4-6 weeks post treatment.
Avoid Anti-Wrinkle Injectables for 2 months post treatment
Avoid Filler/Profhilo Injectables for 3 months post treatment
Avoid any laser treatments for 4 months
Avoid Threads/PRP Injectables for 6 months
Avoid advanced skin treatments i.e. needling, peels, dermaplaning, microdermabrasion, for 6 months

3 – 6 MONTHS POST
At 3 months, your initial homecare will be running low, be prepared to repurchase the required home maintenance pack. The prescribed Mesoestetic home care should be followed for 6 months post treatment as directed by your technician.

7 MONTHS+ POST – Maintenance
After completion of the 6 Month Cosmelan Program, you will need to continue to use a tyrosinase inhibitor i.e. ARx Ultimate Serum, and SPF 50+ to maintain your results. You can also introduce ARx A Serum at night to further maintain your results. For more stubborn pigment like Melasma, you may need to repurchase and continue to use the Cosmelan 2 Cream morning and/or night for maintenance.

Laser for Pigmentation and Rejuvenation

PRE-TREATMENT PREPARATION

48 HOURS PRIOR
No cosmetic injections in the treatment area
No numbing cream to be applied to the treatment area

3 DAYS PRIOR
Stop using cosmeceutical retinol and AHA/BHA

2 WEEKS PRIOR
Topical prescription retinol / whitening/ steroidal creams must be stopped two weeks prior
Must not have an active cold sore
No waxing, laser, threading, tweezing or IPL in the area
No fake tan
No recent sun exposure and sunbeds

2-4 WEEKS PRIOR
Laser for Pigmentation only – You must ensure to apply the recommended Balense &/ ARx Skincare products to strengthen & hydrate the skin reducing the risk of adverse reactions, such as irritation,  inflammation & hyperpigmentation prescribed by your technician.

We cannot treat if you are;
Pregnant or breastfeeding
Taking medication that contains Isotretinoin. If you have taken Accutane, or any other acne drug, laser should be avoided for six months after use has ceased
We cannot treat over metal plates or pins

POST TREATMENT CARE

No cosmetic injectable treatments for 4 weeks post treatment
Avoid sun exposure and sunbeds
